Biography
Mieke has a demonstrated expertise in advising on complex and first-of-its-kind project finance transactions, with particular experiences in the sectors of renewable energy, LNG, gigafactories and infrastructure.
She has been playing a lead role in navigating major sponsors and financial institutions through complex financial arrangements that have led to the successful execution of numerous award-winning and high-profile projects across the globe. Mieke speaks fluent English, Mandarin, Cantonese, German and Japanese. Her linguistic capabilities facilitate technically clear, culturally nuanced and business-effective communication among project stakeholders and are a testament to her commitment to serving a global clientele.

Selected experience
- Advising syndicated lenders in relation to the project financing of a USD200 million loan for the development of a waste to energy facility in Hanoi, Vietnam. This facility is the first of its kind in the region and the biggest waste to energy plant in Vietnam.
- Advising ECAs and lenders in relation to the project financing of a USD926 million loan for the development of a waste to energy facility in Warsan, Dubai. This was the first WtE plant in Dubai and one of the world’s largest.
- Advising sponsors on its USD629 million loan in relation to the financing, the construction and the sub-concession arrangements for the first major part of Lekki deep sea port in Lagos State, Nigeria. This deal won the Middle East and African Infra Deal of the Year: Lekki by PFI Awards 2019.
- Advising syndicated lenders to the ACWA Power/SRF/DEWA consortium on the USD4.3bn 950MW DEWA IV CSP Project in Dubai, UAE. This was the largest CSP project in the world at the time.
- Advising ECAs and lenders on the development and financing of the USD10bn Coral FLNG project in the Area 4 Coral South Offshore Basin, Mozambique. The first-ever project financing of a floating LNG vessel (FLNG), the first LNG project Mozambique and the USD5bn financing was the largest project financing in African history at the time.
