Biography
Azam is U.S. Head of Global Financial Markets and Private Capital Sector Lead at A&O Shearman.
His practice focuses on the structuring and documentation of complex over-the-counter derivatives products for banks, private funds and other financial market participants.
Azam’s practice also includes counseling alternative asset managers regarding regulatory developments, risk management and fund financing transactions. He has extensive experience drafting and negotiating highly structured trading relationships for a wide variety of products and has advised clients in managing risks during market disruptions such as the failures of Enron, Lehman Brothers, and Credit Suisse and other similar market shocks.
