Pieter Vermeulen
Biography
Pieter advises on all aspects of corporate law, including public and private M&A transactions (both strategic acquisitions and private equity buy-and-build acquisitions and exits), joint ventures, restructurings and corporate governance issues.
Pieter has expertise in advising Belgian and international clients across various sectors and jurisdictions. He joined the firm in 2024 after three years at a transatlantic law firm, where he has been seconded to Munich. He is also associated with the University of Antwerp as a research assistant.

- Van Lanschot Kempen on the combination of its specialist ECM and equities activities with KBC Securities in a newly formed 50/50 joint venture.
- Apheon Capital Partners on its acquisition of the Rubio Monocoat group, a global pioneer in premium, VOC-free wood protection solutions, wood paints and construction sealants for interior and exterior applications, from Bencis Capital Partners, along with management’s reinvestment.
- Allianz Benelux on its joint venture with Econopolis, including the acquisition of a 50% stake in Econodigital, the platform developing Twain, a wealth management solution for affluent individuals.
- Waterland Private Equity on the extension of their strategic partnership with United Petfood, the European market leader in pet food, through securing of a new (continuation) fund from institutional investors.
- A private equity firm on the acquisition of a majority stake in a leading premium nutrition expert for the aquatics and aquaculture segments. (previous firm experience)
- The majority shareholder of a fumigation leader in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Slovenia on its strategic buy-out. (previous firm experience)
