Arthur Tan
Biography
Arthur advises on investment treaty arbitration and international commercial arbitration, as well as public international law.
He has experience advising governments and companies in arbitration proceedings under the rules of different institutions, including ICSID, LCIA, ICC and ARIAS. Arthur has experience acting in the telecommunications, oil and gas, and life sciences sector.
Arthur was previously seconded to the A&O Shearman pro bono team and has an active pro bono practice with a strong interest in access to justice and the role of international law.
Prior to joining the firm, Arthur read law at the University of Cambridge and worked as a Research Assistant in the International Dispute Resolution department of the Centre for International Law, National University of Singapore.

- An Asian state in an ICSID arbitration regarding claims worth over USD200m.
- A claimant in an Energy Charter Treaty claim in the oil/gas sector.
- A shareholder in multiple arbitrations relating to the dissolution of a joint venture structure.
- A large pharmaceutical company in disputes relating to the sale of its consumer medicine business.
